The American West is stunning, no matter where you are, in Utah, Wyoming or Wyoming. Shaw Ranch is situated within the Wind River Range. The Shaw Ranch has huge windows that frame the views. This creates picture-perfect scenes in almost all rooms. Large-scale photography is a great way to bring in the outside, even if views are not the main focal point of the room. Ansel Adams, the creator of iconic imagery in the American West, is a great source of inspiration. The fireplace mantel is decorated with a black-and white photo of wild horses in the Shaw Ranch's study. Western riches are further celebrated by elements such as a candlestick made of a deer and an artisan-made chair. Interior design is a unique feature that is versatile for every person and is an amazing way to express yourself; and for me it helps keep me organized. When everything has a place and everything belongs to the aesthetic, it gives me an obligation to obtain cleanliness. Having a place for everything is important for decor and for an everyday life as a college student. For me, the decor in my room was an important way for me to find a sanctuary while I was away from home. I was able to include elements of my life that meant a lot to me which helped me feel more welcomed. When decorating, I like including personal items or inspirational items because I like my space to be a place where I can feel inspired, creative and productive. I also think about what I like when decorating because I can express myself through my decorations. Overall, interior design and decor are ways to set you apart from everyone else and can be life-enhancing by giving a sense of completeness and comfort. From my own personal experience, I know that walking into a room with an empty desk and a bland wall only contributes to the loneliness felt on college campuses. Adding a little plant and a little color goes a long way in giving your room a homely feel.

The American West, regardless of whether you're in Utah's deserts, or Wyoming's Rocky Mountains, is breathtaking. Shaw Ranch is located in the Wind River Range. It features huge windows strategically placed to frame the views. These windows bring beautiful scenes into every room. However, large-scale photography can be used if the views aren't the central point or you just don't want them. Ansel Adams's iconic images of the American West are a source of inspiration. On the fireplace mantel of the Shaw Ranch study is a black and white photograph of wild horses. Western riches are celebrated with elements like a candlestick and chair made from deer antler. My mom has been decorating since I was a toddler. I remember at a previous home she decided to forgo the norm of filling your family room with a couch, love seat, and chair. Instead, she displayed some of her precious art pieces on easels and flanked them with an oak grandfather clock and wall unit. With her creativity, she turned a solid oak coffee table into a museum style bench by covering it with padding and a rich silk-like material. She hung some beautiful drapes that completed a grand look for our family room. Our art gallery was ready for its visitors and each visitor had positive comments on the uniqueness of our family room. Following in my mother’s footsteps, my approach to decorating is to find an inspiration piece first and foremost. Whether it be colors or a message, I look for something that speaks to the space I am looking to decorate. After that I consider colors and texture of walls and furniture that will fill the space. I then look for accessories to finish my space that I value and speak to who I am and things that inspire me. Especially when I need my sanctuary to inspire me at the beginning of my day and relax me at the end of my day.

American Dakota National Park Pine Mountain Green Area Rug, a brand new addition, is a great choice for any room in your house. The stunning medallion design with ornate bordering will bring elegance and style into your space. It looks great when paired with a cowhide rug, blankets, pillows or chandeliers. According Maslow's hierarchy of needs one of our basic needs, is the need for shelter. However, some people might find the definition of shelter more functional rather than comforting. A functional house with access to running water, electricity, air conditioning and heating, would fulfill our physiological needs, however if it lacks the sense of style or any other decorative thought, a few of us would choose to live in it. So what would make a difference between a shelter and a house you would like to live in? In this essay I will be arguing that the decor is an essential element in making a shelter feel like home and will talk about how it reflects one's personality, give some interior decorating tips, and express my personal thoughts about the idea of interior design. First, the decor or interior design matters because it mirrors one’s personality and is a great outlet for self expression. An extravert would decorate a room with sofas, chairs, coffee tables and bar carts to create an inviting and social atmosphere. In contrast, an introvert would сreate a calm area with torcheres, Christmas lights, TV-set or a fireplace to indulge in privacy. Besides the fact that interior design can tell a lot about your personality and lifestyle, it can impact your overall mood and even motivate you. As an example lets recall almost any gym design in the U.S. I am sure that the walls displayed a good looking athlete or words of encouragement. Thus, decor could be a useful tool in helping you achieve your personal goals and aspirations. If you are up for something big, you need the right state of mind. The colors of your room can positively or negatively affect your overall disposition. It is scientifically proven that bright colors can spark creative and pleasant thoughts in your brain. If you have been feeling sad lately, try adding something colorful into your interior design.

This kitchen features simple white appliances paired with vivid patterns and textures such as the Southwest-inspired backsplash, and terrazzo countertop. This kitchen has so many fun colors and contrasts. It works well with the floor’s geometric pattern. Glass upper cabinets are given a happy pink interior in the cabinetry. The owners updated their kitchen with stainless appliances, but a clay backsplash along with terracotta floors preserved the home's original adobe architecture. The stove has cabinets to either side that can be used as storage.
